STAGE 1

This gently paced course introduces the first stages of signing.  How to sign, what to sign, and when? We will also look at what to expect on the way and learn to recognise your baby's signing attempts.

Our focus is on parent & child beginning to understand each other. Themed classes support routines & subjects that attract and support younger babies eg. bedtime, bathtime, animals, safety etc.

The class includes a gentle massage of baby, calming for both mum and baby, also settling the atmosphere for the class. By using sensory exploration, rhymes, songs & a special bonding time, your baby’s growth & development are stimulated & all of his senses engaged. The course also covers other beneficial subjects which support signing and help parents or carers better assist the baby in its very early days.

The objective of this course is to get parent and baby understanding each other at the same time as supporting the developmental needs of the baby.

What a Parent and Child Will Experience in Class

A Warm Welcome -- We endeavour to make everyone feel warmly welcome and included in all of our classes.

Our class is truly the essence of "quality time", offering the parent a place to create special memories with their child, gain new insights into their child's development, and nurture their child's natural love of music.

Variety of Music --  We use a diverse range of musical styles, sounds and genres including a range of new songs and traditional nursery rhymes. This builds strong neural pathways in the baby's developing brain.

Instrument Play --  Age appropriate experiences with child-safe instruments enhance a sense of rhythm and steady beat.  This develops a keen awareness of the distinguishing qualities of sound, and encourages spontaneity and creativity.

Sensory Play -- We have a variety of magical sensory activities and props that we use in all our classes including bubbles, parachutes, scarves, magic light shows, all sorts of different textured objects. These are all carefully used to gently stimulate each of your child's senses.

Dance --  A classroom full of baby and adult pairs dancing together helps a little body develop the muscle strength needed to crawl and walk and helps a little heart to fall in love with the sheer joy of responding to music.  Doing this with a parent builds that bond together.  It is magical to watch the little ones in their developing joy of dance movement.

Expert Advice --  We will explain “what-to-watch-for” every step of the way and how each activity enhances a child’s complete development.
